Nasi Lemak @ Four Leaves Café at Gama Supermarket Penang

Having a meal at a crowded Coffee Shop with a baby is no fun especially if you also have a toddler around. So this fine day, while shopping my wife say, let have lunch at the Four Leaves Café at the Supermarket, I took the option of going with the flow, so I Said ok.

Now, Four leaves is a bakery at Gama Supermarket in Penang Island. A good but pricy bakery, but my eldest is addicted to their Double Cheese Bun. They also operate a small Café at Gama Supermarket, a bit worn, pricing is ok, food is also ok.

I had their special Nasi Lemak, (good) my wife took the Fish and Chips (nothing Special), and then order another Nasi Lemak. Eldest have a Mushroom Soup (Normal) and Double Cheese Bun, Number 2 have a Sandwich, and Baby have her usual Mum Milk.

The Nasi Lemak which is their signature dish, is serve with 2 pieces of Chicken Curry, 1 piece of Potato, ½ a boil egg, slice of cucumber and fried ikan belis, Per Portion cost around RM7+, if I am not mistake, fairly reasonable price for a aircon café. So if you want to eat in aircon comfort and have a fairly good Nasi Lemak, this is the place for you.

Fancy a good Malaysian Chinese Seafood meal at affordable price? .

.
Siang Pin Restaurant is located right next to the Tanjong Bungah Market, it’s a pretty small restaurant with out frills, no air con and the tables are located along the five foot way of adjacent shops, but the food is superb.
.
.
My brother in Law was in town, after spending 6 months in Singapore as a cook, as such it was mandatory for us to pay a visit at Batu Ferringhi. Pop in Law said “let have dinner together” as such it was decided that we should pay a visit to Siang Pin Restaurant, which is the nearest place for affordable price and decent food. .

.
.
Well a Mr Chung Four D, visited one of my Office Colleagues, and to celebrate this occasion it was off to the restaurant for a meal. Chang Kee was close on this day, as such it was Swee Garden.
.
. The Restaurant was pack, but we found a table and place our order of .

Beancurd braised with Squid, Prawns and Ku Chai

And a Steam White Pomfret

. . It was about 45min before the food arrive. Total Damage, RM90 for the three of us. Food was excellent. . . .
Comment: Some how or other, people seem contented to wait at normal coffeeshop or restaurant, but once they go to a Hotel or Proper Coffee House or Restaurant they will start making complaints on having to wait for food. I wounder why. .

Mizi Bistro @ New World Park, Penang

EXCELLENT FOOD, AFFORDABLE PRICE, GOOD SERVICE this should be Mizi Bistro tag line.
Mizi Bistro Front entrance
.
As mention in a previous post, Mizi Bistro was the busiest during my night walk around. and the busiest during this afternoon.
The MENU
.
This fine afternoon, on instructions from a friend, i stop by at New World Park for lunch at 2pm, This friend wanted to meet the owner of the Mizi, and also wanted to talk to me, so that the best place to wait as well as to have lunch.
The Bread Basket
.
Owned and Operated by a Former 5 Star Hotelier, Mizi Bistro is a charming place, very affordable pricing and offers close to Fine Dinning food, with adequate service especially for a place just open. RM16.90 ++ for set lunch, a drink, a soup, a main dish and unlimited Ice Cream.
Green Pea Soup
I had the green pea soup, well all i should say is that there is no canned soup available here so those who like Campbell Soup, etc should stay far away. Thick, Fresh. Mmmmmmm
Teriyaki Chicken, done to perfection, on a bed of vegetable and plain rice. nice succulent chicken.
My Friend had the Fish with Mustard Cream Sauce. Good size portion, I will not show the ice cream i pig out on. Mizi Bistro offer good value for money, just one thing, go early or late after 2.30pm or be prepared to wait. Tel 04-2272921 New World Park plans to open a Flea Market on Sat and Sundays it seem from 10am till 10pm this October. There are also plans for it to be a Wifi Zone.

Lemongrass Thai Restaurant

Name of Restaurant : 51 Lemongrass Restaurant
Location: Jalan Sungai Kelian, Tanjung Bungah, Turn left at the Crown Prince Hotel traffic light, go straight, and turn left, climb hill, restaurant on the right (semi detach single story house) around 100+ meters.
Type of Food : Thai Food
Category: Restaurant
Price : $$$
Parking : road side parking
Time : Lunch and Dinner
Non Halal
.
.
In my earlier post Number One Daughter Birthday I mention that we celebrated my eldest daughter 9th birthday at the Lemongrass restaurant.
.
This restaurant which has open around one year ago is a single story semi detach house in the Hillside area of Tanjung Bungah, and is one of the many restaurants that has mushroom up in the area serving Hillside, Concord, Azuria Apartments, and the Boon Siew Flats and New Housing Estate area in the past few years. Patron consits mainly of the locals, as well as customers from the 5 International Hotel along the Main Tg Bungah Road, and the Tunku Abdul Rahman College.

This restaurant has a nicely laid out garden and decoration, think survivor / bali look and you will get the picture.

The food was spicy in general, and adequate, not exceptional and to me pricey, however I could have miss out their specialties or it was the Chef off day. We had the Thai appetizer, Crispy pork knuckle, seafood otak otak, among others. Pictures did not turn out too well, as it was quite dim in the restaurant. Below are the adequate photos. There were around 20 other customer in 3 other tables that night. This Restaurant have limited seating capacity.

Thai Appetizer

Crispy Pork Knuckles

Total Damage for Food and Drinks RM300 nt
