Road Decorations!

Looking at the Photos in the Main Stream Media, gives the impression that flags and banners are going up every where.
.
.
Well not here in the Kawasan where the Penang Deputy Chief Minister is Contesting. Flags, banner etc are only at certain spots, which to me is funny as i would expect that in this area, all out efforts will be taken. Also there seem to be more Keadilan Flags put up here.
.
.
Well, Both side are comming all out with catchy slogans, and advertisment. One example i have to show is this as i feel its funny! No Disrespect ment ok. And there are no other street decorations in this area, only this bunting.

Nasi Lemak @ Four Leaves Café at Gama Supermarket Penang

Having a meal at a crowded Coffee Shop with a baby is no fun especially if you also have a toddler around. So this fine day, while shopping my wife say, let have lunch at the Four Leaves Café at the Supermarket, I took the option of going with the flow, so I Said ok.

Now, Four leaves is a bakery at Gama Supermarket in Penang Island. A good but pricy bakery, but my eldest is addicted to their Double Cheese Bun. They also operate a small Café at Gama Supermarket, a bit worn, pricing is ok, food is also ok.

I had their special Nasi Lemak, (good) my wife took the Fish and Chips (nothing Special), and then order another Nasi Lemak. Eldest have a Mushroom Soup (Normal) and Double Cheese Bun, Number 2 have a Sandwich, and Baby have her usual Mum Milk.

The Nasi Lemak which is their signature dish, is serve with 2 pieces of Chicken Curry, 1 piece of Potato, ½ a boil egg, slice of cucumber and fried ikan belis, Per Portion cost around RM7+, if I am not mistake, fairly reasonable price for a aircon café. So if you want to eat in aircon comfort and have a fairly good Nasi Lemak, this is the place for you.

Deal the Cards!

Today is nomination day! This is when the parties will deal the cards they deem best for the area! Or actually after the Warlord have their say. But we will know finally who will actually represent the party (finally after all the U turns, Drop, and Reinstated Candidates in the past few days, and more importantly the match up in each area.
.
.
I am watching Tanjung Bungah State, and Bukit Bendera Parliment, and of course My former CM new seat at Tambun Parliment Seat.
.
.
I hope there are no disqualified candidates, as to me that will not be democratic.

Butterworth Lorong Kulit / Taman Selat Day Market

Location : Taman Selat is located, as you head North along Butterworth Main Road, it on the Left before the Town Padang (Field), the market is near Public Bank, CIMB Bank etc, turn in as soon as you see CIMB Bank, there is a big car park which charge RM2 per entry which make it convenient to Park The Taman Selat Day Market, is Butterworth answer to Penang Island Lorong Kulit, Smaller but without the Fruits Stalls and Plants Stall, and with much more of a Malay Flavour. As such those looking for Malay products should come here. And come early, They also close after lunch.
This Day Market is unlike the one at Lorong Kulit. It is located along the five foot way of a row of shops. What do we have here, basically what you will get at Lorong Kulit, cloths, leather goods, perfume, vcds, kris etc. Located here is a pretty good electronic toy shop.
By the way, are these instrument legelly able to be sold in Malaysia? I have notice these in Malay Pasar Malam especially in the Northern States.

There is a new Hypermart in Penang, Seberang Prai, very well plan, super easy access with 3 entrance, with carpark all around it, with out stairs and the best is there are a lot of seats near the entrance for me to sit down waiting for my wife to do the shopping, The Other Hyper Mart should look at this design seriously, Location Bukit Minyak, Near Auto City. Mini Super Bikes!

I saw this in a car accessories show room, when i went to purchase my car cd/mp3 player. At first i thought that it was a toy, i found out that it is a actual working motobike in the replica of a super bike, it actually can carry a person around. Unfortunately it cannot be lisence for the Malaysian Road, Its not cheep either. Its considered a big boy toy! Fancy driving one of this in your house?
If this are Lisence for the road, i would like to see the Mat Rempits using it, sure would solve our traffic jams and parking problems

Fireworks!

The Fireworks are getting bigger! They will get bigger in the next few days I hope. It stated from DAP Penang with some ppl being unhappy with propose drop in candidates, to the Perak Bomb Shell, to the Pahang about turn.
.
.
Next up was BN parties Bomb shells, of drop ministerial candidates, Not so Healty Candidates, Giant Killers, and close operation rooms, The Long in power component party chief and so on. The PAS join in with that former Umno Guy in Kelantan being a PAS candidate.
.
.
Well its all interesting, and with the line ups being release more fireworks are expected, but so far every thing release it is all on personal basic, and all very childish IMHO, and also unprofessional. Very Unbecomming of such persons who are/was elected representetive of the people especially That Perak person, who has shut down her service center! Hey People have voted for you, they still need your service the next guy or girl get in. YOU may be fedup with DAP in general but the PEOPLE. It if was me in their Kawasan well, i will not turn out on the 8th. .
.
It also look like i will have to vote for a new guy this time, My State Assemblyman or Adun as they call them is going to KL for a minister post to "reinvent penang", As his replacement well, is it going to be the Bukit Bendera MP? or some other new guy? I had hopes that that DAP Blogger or DAP Chief will take on Bukit Bendera and Tanjung Bungah. Sparks will fly then.
.
.
There has not been any juicy national fireworks, I am slightly disappointed. Hopefully after all the josteling for seats is over..........
.
.
On the Decoration side, where I stay in the country side, Keadilan seem more active then BN, However in George Town, BN folks is only slightly more active in their Flag Flying.

A Whole Black Forest Cake for RM13.80!

Eldest Daughter needed her Cheese Bun Fix of the week, so we when to the local bakery, (thank god that this bun is avaliable almost every where) which is actually the first time i have been here. Usually Mommy will be the "Bread" purchaser. After the RM128 Ice Cream Cake its a surprice that there are people and compenies out there, that are ensure that prices of things do not go out of hand. These Mini Cakes (Normal Cakes) are price at RM13.80. and are avaliable in 3 verities, one of which is Black Forest.
This Shop is located behind the Main Trunk Road (Butterworth - Ipoh) where it pass the Sungai Bakap New town. As you head to Ipoh it is on the right hand side, behind the Shell Petrol Station.
Here a picture of the shop if you need to drop by.

Smoke!

Something on Fire? Nope just a factory puffing away, along the North South Highway. The Environment seems to be getting worst daily.

A Bridge across the River Prai.

There is now a short cut from Taman Chai Leng, to Butterworth Town, via the New Bridge across the Prai River. Bridge seem to be design like the Penang Bridge, and sure took a long time to build but it’s finally here though.
You may have to pay a toll, but it sure cut down the travel time if you are heading for the ferry.

Pizza Treat at Pizza Hut

As we troupe in to Pizza Hut, Queensbay Mall, Penang. I notice that they have more staff, and not only that, They Have Foreign Workers! As waiters. I thought I read some where, one of the ppl in power, said Foreign Workers cannot be waiter? Or that only for Hotels?
Well with the increase in staff, at 6.30pm, well, service was like faster, but still a bit upside down, the soup arrive before the drinks. Then every thing came fast. Not bad, The staff was more relax then my previous visit and even played with my little one. (3rd Daughter) . . .
We ordered the Pizza Set on Promotion, The Golden Happiness Crown Set 1 for 2 persons, 1 Lasagna, and 1 Fettuccini Carbonara, and a Pitcher of Soft Drinks. Pizza is ok except it does not match the promotional photo, they never do, and the pineapple bits was too small.
. . Chicken Lasagna, Pass, the usual pizza hut standard. The Fettuccini, well not creamy enough, not enough sauce, the chicken tasted like the chicken in the Pizza, but after a liberal addition of cheese, salt and Tabasco, I finish it. Bread Stick, I never like them, but they are part of the set.
And the bill arrive at the table before I ask for it. Total Damage, RM70 have some change back. Generally not my cup of tea, but it a treat to Number One who love cheese and any food with cheese in it. Porridge with Cheese, Rice with Cheese etc. One day I will try to put some chili in some cheese and try that out to see if she will take it. (Number one do not eat chili).

Would you pay RM128 for a Ice Cream Cake?

At The Häagen-Dazs Ice Cream Stall in Queensbay, Penang, that is how much you have to fork out. Picture Below.
See the Photo Below, For the RM128 Ice Cream Cake. I know that Häagen-Dazs Ice Cream is in a Class of its own, but the Price you have to pay for it? It is not a bargain.
.
.
Well Häagen-Dazs Ice Cream is not for me, nor my family, For RM128 we can have many good meal for my family of five. Even our meal at Pizza hut came up to RM70/- . But to others, That seem to be ok with them, Häagen-Dazs Ice Cream seems to be selling in Penang. None of the other brands can touch it in terms of quality and taste.

Queensbay Mall, Penang

My last visit to this place was around april 07, when it was still being open. After much bugging by my wife, I decided to ignore the Silly Season on going, and pop in just after 5pm, yesterday, a Monday. .
.
.
Picture taken while going in
.
Picture taken while going out!
.
. It was a Good Choice for us, its was very quite day here, and I decided to park at the open air carpark near the south entrance. As such after paying the RM1, fee for per entry we entered the complex from the south side. The Main concourse was still has the Chinese New Year Decorations.
.
.
.
.
Well after all this months, more shops have came in, and as such we were window shopping from one end to the other end, which is quite taxing to our feet. There must be more seats for us to rest.
.
.
Jaya Jusco, the anchor have some interesting items under its Jusco Selection brand, I hope to try out some of their items to see it they are of restaurant quality.
.
.
We went back too the same Pizza Hut that we had dinner last time to try out their special, but that the next post. Well Queensbay Mall is improving and I am beginning to like Jusco.

Imsomia!

Can't Sleep (at 3am) , So watch Movie, No Movie? I just grap 2 of my Kids Movies just to pass the time, till its time to go to work. Well To me the Bee Movie, is a Kid's Movie, as i understand it my 2 1/2 year old enjoy it very much, though my 10 year old decline to comment, She said, i dont want to watch it, but did watch it later!

The Golden Compass Advertisment in the TV was very exciting, and every one say it is a children movie well after watching it, i have to say that it is a thinking movie, and you have to understand what is said to enjoy this movie. I find it was a bit slow going in the actual movie.

Nice Family Dinner @ Tanjong Bungah, Sing Pin Restaurant

Fancy a good Malaysian Chinese Seafood meal at affordable price? .
.
Location : Near Tanjong Bungah Market Opening Hours ; Lunch and Dinner Time only Food type : Chinese Seafood Meal .
.
Siang Pin Restaurant is located right next to the Tanjong Bungah Market, it’s a pretty small restaurant with out frills, no air con and the tables are located along the five foot way of adjacent shops, but the food is superb.
.
.
My brother in Law was in town, after spending 6 months in Singapore as a cook, as such it was mandatory for us to pay a visit at Batu Ferringhi. Pop in Law said “let have dinner together” as such it was decided that we should pay a visit to Siang Pin Restaurant, which is the nearest place for affordable price and decent food. .
.
There were 8 adults, 4 child and one baby. Total Damage, RM100 with change. What good there were the Mantis Prawns with Dry Chillie Stout Flavored Fried Chicken, you can feel the Kick of the Stout in this dish Fish Head Curry And the piece de resistance of this night were the Braised Pork Belly
